Description
Spinach Balls are a tasty and healthy snack packed with fresh spinach that make a great appetizer for any gathering. They’re easy to prepare and can be served with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch dressing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped spinach, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm as an appetizer.
Notes
- Make sure to drain any excess moisture from the spinach before mixing it with the other ingredients. This helps keep the Spinach Balls from becoming soggy.
- Don’t be shy about adding more cheese or spices to personalize the flavor.
- If you want a crispier texture, try frying them in a little olive oil instead of baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Spinach balls can be frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
