Description

Spinach Balls are a tasty and healthy snack packed with fresh spinach that make a great appetizer for any gathering. They’re easy to prepare and can be served with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chopped spinach, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Make sure to drain any excess moisture from the spinach before mixing it with the other ingredients. This helps keep the Spinach Balls from becoming soggy.
  • Don’t be shy about adding more cheese or spices to personalize the flavor.
  • If you want a crispier texture, try frying them in a little olive oil instead of baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Spinach balls can be frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
